So, I can not stress enough to people how important it is to be prepared for car trouble in cold weather. The same for hot weather. Or any breakdown.

Dispatching tow trucks, I see too often calls coming in in which someone broke down and the temperatures are in the single digits.

I keep a coat, hat, mittens, boots, flashlight, batteries, candle, food, matches, knife, and a first-aid kit in a tote for both Christina and I.

I also rotate a couple of water bottles so that we have drinking water. Rotated to stay fresh and so they are not frozen. I use a little cooler to prolong the freezing process.

I may be a little over prepared. I worry about breaking down or going in the ditch traveling on the highway.

I continue to clear the trail in the backyard. I 'groom' the trail, weather and time permitting, by dragging the sled around with the punching bag in it. The bag weighs in just over 100 pounds.

Packing the snow down helps keep the sled on course while Christina is on it. And it helps with the wagon or her wheelchair as we roll around.

Time and weather permitting I will color the yard again before Christina comes on Friday.

What better place to complain about the phone ringing.

After just over a week off from work, I find the phone very annoying. Not a good sign when the job includes answering the phone.

This is the season for vehicle breakdowns. I guess that means the phone shall ring.

Now that the holiday season is over and Christina is back to school, it is time for me to go back to work.

I find I relax differently at work than when at home. Christina being home really lowers the blood pressure and keeps me calm. She also keeps me moving and I tire quickly.

I do love Christina and my time together. Every day is play day.

Merry Christmas

Enjoy this merry time of year. Too many find this time frustrating. Look past the humbug and see the light ahead.

This thought process is difficult to reach and maintain. Sometimes family is difficult to tolerate. And, sometimes it brings many unhappy memories of friends and family lost.

And, for some reason so many people are cranky this time of year. Maybe it is the weather. Or, coming close to fiscal close and lots of paperwork.

Lets sum it up.

I do think, regardless of religion or your beliefs, this is a special time of year. Our society here has lost much of the start of Christmas; however, society has made this a time to celebrate family and friends. So lets celebrate.
