Only once in awhile do I turn the weather radio on standby. After the sirens went off Friday morning it got me thinking. I should have the weather radio on standby all day every day.

I have several radios with weather radio features. None pick up well at home. The AM/FM radio with weather radio has a telescopic antenna that pulls in great if I hold the end of the CB antenna to it.

The scanner has weather radio features that are great and the scanner antenna on the roof picks up great. The down side of using the scanner with roof antenna is picking up too many stations. The other morning when I turned it on after the sirens went off it would pick up four of the seven channels. The rubber ducky antenna does not pick up the weather channels in the house. Ugh.
